Abstract

Esta presentación estuvo basada en un proyecto de investigación cualitativa que se desarrolló en un colegio privado en Bogotá (Colombia), acompañado de la producción de narrativas de un grupo de adolescentes en octavo grado en donde se reportaron los conflictos que enfrentaron de manera autónoma. Se examinó la pregunta: What do eighth-graders’ written life stories unveil about their capacity for conflict negotiation in a Peaceful classroom environment? cuyo objetivo fue descubrir y mostrar las capacidades de negociación al momento de enfrentar conflictos de manera autónoma y creativa teniendo como mediador su desarrollo de capacidades de escritura en la segunda lengua (inglés). Los participantes se convirtieron en co-intérpretes de sus narrativas y las respuestas de las entrevistas semiestructuradas que se aplicaron durante el estudio. El modelo interpretativo e inductivo de investigación sirvió como marco; los hallazgos abordaron la relación entre la capacidad de negociación y autonomía de los participantes al momento de enfrentar y resolver conflictos de su pasado cercano, lejano y sus prospecciones a futuro.
